On New Year’s eve, the SKWAWKBOX published an exclusive account of the EU’s investigation into huge fraud allegedly perpetrated by UKIP MEPs and officials – on top of already-proven fraud that had been barely publicised – as well as serious allegations of child abuse and distributing child pornography.
UKIP supporters on social media were quick to cry ‘fake news’ as a lazy dismissal of an uncomfortable article – until, last Wednesday, over a month later, the Guardian newspaper published the same story, or to be more precise, a significant part of it that matched this blog’s exclusive in every detail.
