In the last hour or so, Royal Mail workers on Merseyside have agreed that leaflets or vouchers sent by the S*n ‘newspaper’ to addresses in the Liverpool and Wirral areas will not be delivered, in solidarity with Hillsborough victims and their families and the people of the region, who were smeared by the Murdoch publication.
Members of the CWU union met today to discuss the ban and have notified management. The leaflets, which bear a ‘Merry Christmas from the S*n’ message and have arrived at the Royal Mail depot ready for processing, will remain boxed and will presumably be returned to their originator. Management has not yet responded, but given the strength of feeling in the area against the S*n, may well be supportive.
