Number of women in cabinet now lowest since … the last time Tories were in power

Pride's Purge

(not satire – it’s the Tories!)

After the resignation of Maria Miller, there are now only 3 women out of 22 in David Cameron”s cabinet.

That’s the lowest number of women in a cabinet since 1997. Which is when the Tories were last in power.

John Major’s final cabinet before the Tories were defeated at the 1997 general election included just 2 women.

Still – I suppose it must be hard for Cameron to find suitable cabinet members.

Eton is a strictly boys-only institution.
